Moisturisers!

At the moment its Summertime here in Ireland (or meant to be) so a good mosturiser is needed.

To protect against UV rays as well as hydrate the skin.

The moisturiser I am using mostly this month is: Elemis Maximum moisture day cream.

I have heard a lot about elemis in the last few months, on magazines or from family and friends. My mother uses it all the time, my sister recently has got some products so I needed to see what all the hype was about.

I must say it does exactly what it says on the tin. The reason I went for this one, was I am conscious of dehydration, some days I drink the perfect amount of water but diet may be off, and other days I would not get to drink as much so our skin needs to be topped up with water supplies all the time, and it is what I am most conscious of with my skin.

The moisturiser comes in a 50ml squeezy bottle. You only need the smallest amount of product, apply to cleansed and toned skin. It is quite expensive at €49.00, you maybe lucky to get it for a cheaper price on different websites, I know at one stage I got it for €39.50 which was a good saving. I have bought other products in this range that I have heard are very good but not got to try them as yet. I am still using up my previous skin care range.

Before I got Elemis, I was using the fantastic Brand of Matis. This is a french brand only available to buy in certain spas / beauty rooms. I had the opportunity of using this range of product when I was training in skincare and found all of them to be absolutely amazing.

The moisturiser I used from the matis range was from the Response Jeunesse collection, which translated to age prevention collection. This is the purple collection as every bottle is distinguished by a different stripe in colour.

This moisturiser was lovely and my skin always felt fab after using it. However if I had to decide over the two I think I would have to choose Elemis, as it feels more light weight and that it is doing its job properly. I sometimes used to get little dry patches and felt I had to use more moisturiser but with Elemis I never do.

Looking forward to trying out the rest of the range!! :)

Mac Paint Pots :)

"Paint pots" are one of macs maybe not so popular product to the everyday customer but for me its a case of I cant live without!!

To date I only have four of the paint pots available to buy. I started off with a golden tint one years ago called "Rubenesque" and I still have which is in perfect condition and still very wearable and gorgeous (I still have lots left). It is a sheer colour, but you can build it up perfectly to create a more vibrant look. Smooth and easy to blend.

Then I bought the most popular of the paint pots, "Painterly" and I must say, this is the best money I have ever spent. I wear this as an eyeshadow almost every day over the last year and I still have almost half a pot left. It is a neutral colour with pinky undertones, looks fabulous on its own, teamed with a brown in the crease or it also works really well with a purple colour. I love it, as it stays on all day without budging and even lasts until the next day (if you don't take your makeup off at night, which we all do)!! This paint pot is also easy to blend and quite smooth to use.

This is what the packaging looks like.

Paint pots are by FAR the most long lasting, best value for money and have fantastic colours available to buy. They are basically, a cream texture, in a pot, which you can use as an eye base, an eye shadow or else to make another colour pop by adding the same or slightly different shade of powder shadow to the eye, or change a shade of eye shadow and create a unique different colour. They are a cream in the pot but dry to a smooth vibrant finish.

Here are the shades I have in order: Rubenesque (golden peach with gold pearl) (frost) , Painterly ( nude beige cream) (cream) , Groundwork ( chocolate brown) (cream) and Dangerous Cuvee (is a new pro longwear pot and is a purple/grey metallic colour)

These are the lovely colours I have at the moment
These are Swatches of the colours

Rubenesque & Painterly
Dangerous Cuvee & Groundwork

Groundwork is a more newer one that I own and I have only used it and Dangerous Cuvee a few times.   Groundwork is a more drier consistency to use, so you have to work a little more quicker when applying to the eyes. Dangerous Cuvee is creamy and frosted and works lovely with a pigment or a purple colour over it.

I absolutely LOVE these products and can't wait to get my hands on more of them & have them in every colour :)
